This is probably the best conference in control theory and optimization. You see the most brilliant academics from around the world in one place and listen to amazing talks and keynotes from the best. The conference brings together thousands of attendees with a low acceptance rate, which shows the competitiveness nature of the conference. I'd say this an affordable conference comparing to many others and is often held in a nice site to enjoy the holiday season in December!

Ways to improve the conference: The conference is extremely concentrated on theory and academics. If you are interested in industrial applications or networking, probably this is the right place for you. Also, even for the academics, it's not easy to understand the role of attendees in the conference. It'd be great if there could be a mechanism in place to show who is attending as a student, who as a professor, and who as staff.

Recommendation: Definitely recommend
