ICCV 2025 was held at an excellent venue in Honolulu, Hawaii, providing a beautiful and welcoming setting for one of the world’s leading computer vision conferences. The event brought together researchers and industry professionals and offered a great environment for learning, exchanging ideas, and networking.
The keynotes were among the main highlights, especially the first two. Sheperd Doeleman’s presentation on capturing images and eventually movies of black holes was fascinating. Brent Seales’s talk on using computer vision and AI to virtually unwrap and read ancient Herculaneum scrolls was equally remarkable. Both demonstrated how computer vision can help solve extraordinary scientific and historical challenges.
Ways to improve the conference: The conference app could be improved to make planning each day easier. It would also be helpful to provide session recordings directly in the app, allowing attendees to catch up on interesting talks that overlapped with other sessions. Additionally, some workshops indicated that virtual participation would be available, but access links were not provided for several of them.
Recommendation: Probably recommend
