The International Symposium on Laser-Aided Plasma Diagnostics (LAPD) is a recurring scientific meeting focused on laser- and electromagnetic-wave-based diagnostic techniques applied to plasmas. It brings together researchers working on fusion-plasma diagnostics, low-temperature and industrial plasmas, atmospheric and environmental plasmas, and related hardware and spectroscopy methods. The symposium emphasizes cross-disciplinary exchange between physicists, chemists and engineers developing measurement techniques such as Thomson scattering, laser spectroscopy, polarimetry and interferometry. LAPD is organised by an international scientific committee with local host institutions, and is held approximately every two years.
