Overall, my experience wasn’t very pleasant, mostly because my expectations didn’t quite match the focus of the conference. I was hoping to see more medical device companies, startups in AI, healthcare, and imaging. But most of the startups were focused on cell biology, therapeutics, and protein design. There were fewer companies working on AI platforms, medical devices, or software solutions for medical use. I’d love to see more of those kinds of startups and talks in future events. Also, the panels felt too long-people couldn’t really stay engaged the whole time. It was mostly moderators asking questions, and there was very little time for the audience to participate, which made it less effective.
Ways to improve the conference: It can be improved by inviting people from other sectors in life sciences, and having more sessions about investing, investors in startups, and how startups can raise money. It would also be great to have more alumni who are now building their own startups.
